The first year is presented as a stand alone course and as a foundation for the second year. It is designed to be transformative and healing for each participant. Nature will be our guide as we open our senses and intuition to immerse ourselves in each season. Our lens will be the framework of Chinese 5 Element Medicine. We will use creative exploration, experiential learning, poetry, movement, shamanic journeying and more to deepen our understanding of ourselves, our plant allies, our human family and our planet.
The first year will include:
Learning from nature as we embody each season to better understand the Five Elements.
Understanding our own relationships to each element/season using Chinese 5 Element theory as our framework.
Learning to dream journey as a way of connecting with the plants and our teachers in the Spirit Realm.
Recognizing the “personhood” of all beings and incorporating this into the way we live our lives.
Exploring important aspects of the realm of healing, including Respect, Gratitude and Relationship, we will broaden these concepts to include ourselves, our community and all of nature.

In the Second Year of Plant Spirit Medicine Healer Training, participants will further cultivate their understanding of the human-plant relationship.
The curriculum introduces:
The Artistry of the Practice
Skills necessary to become a PSM Healer
Learning to work together with Plant Spirits to strengthen the Constitution and clear Energy Blocks.
Principles of ethical healer-client relationships
Expertise needed to establish and operate a practice.
This phase also includes personalized support from instructors as participants commence client-focused work.

Who: Jean Bergstrom and Clare Pearson have over 45 years of combined experience practicing Plant Spirit Medicine, training under Eliot Cowan. Clare is a certified PSM Teacher and Clinical consultant.
